One of most designer’s favourite taks is making of annual reports. In the past, these publications were considered as a great prestige that the banks proudly displayed and gave to owners, committees and shareholders. Not just design, photos and editing, but extra ideas and solutions for prints: transparencies, varnishes, stances, multiple paper, etc. has raised the bar for the designers – so there were real masterpieces in this area.
Nowadays, the printed format of annual reports rarely appears, but the electronic version is still alive and important. The 2012 – Annual Report for MKB Bank is one of the last of the last Mohicans. As the Bank has a fine art collection, it was a good idea to use these works as a visual material during design. This is how the typography and images were created, becoming an extremely elegant individual world and publication.
